How does your family prepare for New Year's Eve? And what meaning does your culture assign to them? New Year's eve is when we have the gathering feast. The time when the family reunites. On New Year's day it is Veggie day because symbolically it is bad to slaughter on the first day of the year. It risks inviting malicious spirits into your family.
Here are a few dishes from our table on New Year's eve.
Whole chicken for good beginnings and endings.
Fish for abundance
Pork for prosperity and wealth
Mushrooms for enduring spirit
Motto: eat for life, eat to savor, eat to bond. Family is the most precious earthly ties, eat well together.
