On so many levels, much suffering would be avoided if we just believed women.

Medical professionals say a 2021 report supported by Health Canada could have a major impact on how the medical system can better understand chronic pain and the best ways to diagnose it — but with its release during the height of COVID-19 pandemic, the report flew under the radar, and some doctor...

Hello Invisible Disabilities Association Community!

We are partnering with a team of researchers from the University of Toronto, Harvard Business School and the University of Virginia, conducting research to help people with invisible disabilities. In this survey, we are studying how you use or would use our IDA invisible disability cards!

If you are interested in taking part in our survey, we would greatly appreciate your participation! The only requirement to take part is that you have an invisible disability. The link is available below:

The survey will take you approximately 5 minutes to complete. Please feel to reach out to the primary researcher, Chloe Kovacheff ([email protected]), with any questions. Thank you in advance!

By Carol Levy, PNN Columnist Have you ever seen a platypus? The semiaquatic mammal from Australia that lays eggs and is duck-billed, beaver-tailed and otter-footed?

This made me tear up; it’s so real. The delayed diagnosis. The not being believed. The losing ability to do things that once brought you joy. The piling on of new diagnoses because once you finally get one & it’s an autoimmune disease they like to cluster. The endless trying of new treatments. The loss of a career you worked so hard for. Loss, confusion, isolation, grief, sadness, anger, acceptance. And then, the daily practice of letting go of your old life for a new normal & the discovery of new things to find joy in & to be thankful for every day.
