NEW EPISODE dropping TOMORROW 5/12/2026:

Jake and I sat down by the campfire to record a milestone: the first-ever video episode in ChewCreek Podcast history.

We spent the weekend rock climbing and sleeping at North River Campground.

Trading the noise of the daily grind for the peaceful nights by the river. There is something about being outdoors suspended on a rock face or sitting under the stars. that forces you to look upward and inward.

In this episode, we’re diving into the heart of Rewilding our Souls. We talk about why "Comfort Kills" is the first in the series for 2026. And how stepping into the wild helps us reconnect with the Creator and our true purpose.

Don't forget this: God is not done tilling up the weeds. When life is good run to him, when life is bad run to him. You must run to him in order for his will to be done in you.
My favorite lyric is, "It's hard to answer prayers when nobody is praying to him". Get down on your knees and make time for the Lord. We can't possibly do it on our own apart from Jesus.

There is a reason why being outside is therapeutic...
God designed us this way. There is a reason why so often in scripture it talks about escaping to the wilderness.

Jesus → 40 days in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1–11)
Moses → 40 years in Midian before leading Israel (Exodus 3)
Elijah → Met God in a quiet wilderness moment (1 Kings 19:11–13)
John the Baptist → Voice crying in the wilderness (Luke 3:2–4)

Keep an eye out for our next episode on this topic coming soon!

You can give your son a lot in this life
but if you don’t teach him how to pray, you’ve left him unarmed.

The world teaches boys to stand tall.
God teaches men to kneel first.

He didn’t fully understand what I was doing in this moment but one day, he will.

Be Interruptible.

I don’t know much, but I do know this — being interruptible matters.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned (and am still learning) in my career is the power of simply being available.

You can tell a lot about someone by how they answer the phone.
When you call and instantly sense that they don’t want to talk, or are too busy to care — the conversation rarely goes anywhere productive.

No matter how busy we are, there’s always room to show respect.
Answer with kindness. Listen with patience. Treat the person on the other end like they matter — because they do.

Jesus modeled this better than anyone.
He was interruptible — and it changed lives.

When a desperate woman touched His cloak in a crowd, He stopped and turned to listen (Mark 5:25–34).

When blind men cried out to Him on the roadside, He paused and restored their sight (Matthew 20:29–34).

When children were brought to Him, even as His disciples tried to shoo them away, He welcomed them (Mark 10:13–16).

Even on His way to raise the dead, He made time for those in need.

In a world that tells us to stay focused, keep grinding, and never stop moving, it takes humility and leadership to slow down long enough to be interruptible.

Whatever business you’re in, people will always matter most.
So be interruptible — and I want people to hold me to that same standard.

Because leadership isn’t just about what we expect from others, but what we’re willing to live out ourselves.

Psalm 27:14 (LSB)
“Hope in Yahweh; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Hope in Yahweh.”

In a world shaken by violence, fear, and uncertainty, we are reminded that hope placed in people or in the systems of this world will always fall short. But hope placed in the Lord is never wasted. He alone restores peace where peace cannot exist without Him.

Charles Spurgeon once wrote:
“Wait at His door with prayer; wait at His foot with humility; wait at His table with service; wait at His window with expectancy.”

Let us be a people who wait on the Lord—courageously, prayerfully, and expectantly—knowing that He is our refuge, our peace, and our unshakable hope.

In this episode, I sit down with Pastor Angel Cartagena (AC) to talk about the real side of life in ministry. He shares how he came to faith, the joys and challenges of marriage, and the struggle to find balance when the weight of ministry feels overwhelming. We also have an open and raw conversation about pornography—an issue many wrestle with but few are willing to talk about. This is an honest look at faith, marriage, and ministry without the filters.
