We organize free events that allow children to socialize, learn new things, and have fun; for example, 1-on-1 tutoring & after-school club.

Hello FCSN Davis Parents! FCSN Davis is bringing back our 1-on-1 tutoring program this fall. All of our programs are free of charge.

Classes are 1 hour long, once per week, and will be held online (all other information is attached on the flyer). You can find a description of the classes in this document: https://tinyurl.com/1on1catalog. Our tutors have been trained by the FCSN parent organization and classes will be monitored by FCSN at Davis board members (initially). Note that volunteers have shown some level of expertise in the classes they have chosen to teach.

These classes are largely informal (and also completely free) with the main goal being to create friendships during these difficult times.

When: Fall Session runs from October 18 to December 3. There will be a total of 5-7 classes for the session.

Hello FCSN Davis Parents,
Would you like your child to learn to love reading and strengthen their reading skills? FCSN Davis is hosting an online book club this fall. All of our programs are free of charge.

The book club is for children with special needs run by trained volunteers from UC Davis’s FCSN (Friends of Children with Special Needs) Club. The book club will be open to children ages 9 to 17 who will be separated into 2 reading brackets.

Children will be able to strengthen their reading comprehension and verbal communication skills while working with a book of their choice. Books will be reviewed by the club for appropriate content and children will not be required to read, though they are certainly welcomed to volunteer to! The books will be shared over Zoom by the volunteers, so there is no need to obtain a physical copy.

When: Saturdays, 10/23-11/20, from 1:30 to 2:10 pm on Zoom.

The book club will begin with 20 individuals maximum with 2-4 UC Davis student volunteers. Volunteers will be trained by the parent organization FCSN and privately by UC Davis FCSN Club prior to the book club beginning.
