I am heartbroken to share that our former PTA president and my dear friend, Jaclyn “Jackie” Brundza, passed away unexpectedly yesterday.

Jackie brought me into PTA eight years ago, changing my life in ways I never could have imagined. She knew every single one of our school’s 700+ students by name. I remember thinking that, with enough time, I would get there too. But that was one of Jackie’s special gifts—knowing every child and making them feel like they mattered.

When I became PTA president years later, I messaged her, “Now how do I do this without losing my mind?” Her answer was simple: “Just remember it’s all about the kids.”

That was Jackie. She loved our school and our children, and she gave so much of herself to this community. She was a devoted mom to her daughters, a passionate supporter of veterans, and the kind of friend who showed up when you needed her most.

I am so grateful she brought me into this PTA family, and even more grateful that I got to call her my friend. As we continue the work she cared so much about, I will carry her words with me: it’s all about the kids.

My heart is with her husband, daughters, mother, sister, and everyone who loved her.

Rest in peace, Jackie. You are loved, you will be missed, and you will always be part of our NBF family. 💚💛
