Success! Last night was the distribution of the baby kits and baby items to the families. As the families arrived they were treated to lots of yummy food prepared by Tonie Jo and other members of Calvary Fellowship Church. After the welcome speeches and prayer, the families were called one by one to choose some clothing for their children (sizes newborn to 5). Then they went into an area filled with baby food, formula, breast pumps and other small items where they could take the items they need the most. The next room the families got to select baby and toddler toys. Next they went outside where all the large items were. They got to choose anywhere from 2-4 items per child from items like strollers, pack n plays, walkers, high chairs, cribs and much more. The volunteers that were helping the families got to play Tetris as they tried to fit all the goodies the families chose in the shopping carts! Some families needed two or three carts to get all their items to their car! Finally they received their baby kits which were baby tubs or laundry baskets filled with the size diapers they requested and lots of brand new baby items. As they went to their cars they were able to pick up some salads and melons to take home provided by A Place in Time Christian Ministries.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to help! A special thank you to all the Troop 160 volunteers for all your help throughout the various stages of my project. To Calvary Fellowship Church for the use of their facilities, preparing and serving the food, all the donations, and for the prayers and support. To A Place in Time Christian Ministries for allowing me to do this project and for supporting me each step of the way. And finally to my family and friends who put up with me, loved me, and helped me complete my project.

Last night, thanks to this wonderful group of friends and family, we put together 63 baby kits!! My goal was 30, but thanks to everyone’s donations, I was able to over double my goal! 🎉🍼🎉🍼

Today I had a great group of siblings and scouts who came out to Publix and helped collect baby items. The result was amazing!! These families will be getting more than I even planned!

Thank you to everyone who donated and to Ms. Micca, Chase, Miles, Nate, Ashlyn, Mom and Dad who all stood outside Publix for hours helping me.
