Bit By Bit Therapeutic Riding Center - South Florida

Bit By Bit Therapeutic Riding Center - South Florida At Bit-By-Bit our goal is to heal with the help of the horse. We offer equine assisted activities and therapies to people with special needs.

Bit-By-Bit is a family-friendly, community supported organization which recognizes the healing power that horses share with all humans. We specialize in providing medical treatment where the horse is utilized as a strategy in physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy sessions to help the participant reach their maximum potential. Special needs participants may also come to our fac

ility to learn recreational adaptive riding lessons that require special accommodations due to their disability. We proudly offer our "Horses For Heroes" Disabled Veteran's Program 100% Free of Charge to our wounded heroes! We are able to provide services to our veterans due to donations and community support. At Bit-By-Bit we work in partnership with the community in soo many ways--helping the girl scouts and boy scouts earn their awards, training at risk teens to participate in equestrian learning workshops, and mentoring hundreds of allied health students each year from schools like the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Florida International University, Kaiser, and many more! We also have a robust volunteering program that incorporates special needs volunteers, vulnerable teens, baby boomers, school civic clubs, and religious groups. We give community service hours to help high schoolers get into choice colleges. All of this is accomplished due to the help & generosity of the community.

Our hearts are with Tomorrow's Rainbow.

Please note that Strangles is highly contagious, and it is the duty of everyone who interacts with horses to take great care.

To help protect our herd, we ask that anyone who visits another barn or has been around outside horses before coming to Bit-by-Bit please change clothes and wash their hands and shoes thoroughly beforehand.

Thank you for your cooperation

A beloved therapy horse at Coconut Creek nonprofit Tomorrow's Rainbow has died as a contagious outbreak spreads through its herd.

The ranch is now under quarantine, but services for grieving children are continuing.

Please note that Strangles is highly contagious and it is the duty of everyone who interacts with horses to take great care.
Out of an abundance of caution, we are implementing temporary biosecurity measures in response to this recent strangles outbreak in the equine community. Please note that Strangles is highly contagious, and it is the duty of everyone who interacts with horses to take great care. Though humans can not get infected, they are carriers and can transmit it from barn to barn, and it spreads quickly.
To help protect our herd, we ask that anyone who visits another barn or has been around outside horses before coming here please change clothes and wash their hands and shoes thoroughly beforehand.
Thank you for your cooperation

The upper respiratory disease commonly referred to as strangles is caused by Streptococcus equi subsp equi. Strangles is spread from horse to horse through direct contact. Horses can also contract the disease by coming into contact with contaminated surfaces. The disease is highly infectious.
