It is developmental disorder affecting little girls worldwide, 1 of every 10,000 to 23,000 births. It affects little girls of all racial and ethnic groups, and it is

rarely seen in boys. This syndrome has been misdiagnosed by many as autism or cerebral palsy. Retts Syndrome is developmental disorder, not a degenerative disorder. My niece GIA (Gods Innocent Angels) was diagnosed with Retts Syndrome at the age of 3 years old. Hoping and praying daily that one day there might be a cure. GIA is a special little girl, she is beautiful and has the flair of an innocent angel. She is caring in her actions, loving in her own ways, always smiling, but her silence is saddening. She cannot speak, as most little girls with Retts. It is very heart-wrenching to not be able to listen to her speak while her eyes can tell you stories. Her relentless laughter and flawless looks, make you love her all the more. Like GIA, there are many little girls out there with these same characteristics. Today a foundation has been created to assist families with Retts Syndrome in providing them with counseling, therapy information and most of all grants. Continuous research is being done and they have yet to find a cure. During this time, we want to help those families cope and understand that there is hope for their little girls. Through positive thinking and continues research, one day these little girls will be able to tell us their story.

October has been a long and trying month for all the little girls affected with RETT. It really played out this month considering it's RETT Awareness month. I've been following all the mom's and the girls affected and honestly, my heart is broker every time I read a new post in the RETT forum.

I can only say that with love and prayers, God will shine through and we must never give up. Strength and prayer go a very long way. God Bless our little girls.

In the past couple of weeks we've been pressured into being a part of the and we've all donated and participated for this great cause. I would like to see a challenge similar to this done for the little girls affected with . I CHALLENGE you to post a video of yourself expressing how you feel without being able to say a word or use your hands. This is the challenge that these little girls face daily. They're unable to speak or use their hands to express themselves. I challenge you to this! What would your video look like... Please share, post your videos and help us spread awareness. I'm not asking for a donation, only awareness... God Bless our little angels.
