🥪☀️ This Week’s Showering Love’s Lunch Bags Are Filled With Love! ❤️

This week, our lunch bags are filled up and ready to go! We have some good protein-packed sandwiches — tuna and egg salad, made with mayo and seasonings, served on wholesome whole-wheat bread. 🥪

Each bag is also filled with a breakfast bar, applesauce or another fruit, fruit snacks, crackers, and another good breakfast treat to help keep someone going throughout their day. 🍎🍪

And, of course, we have to add a little something sweet because everyone needs a sweet treat every now and then! 🍬❤️

Thank you to everyone who continues to help make these lunches possible. Together, we can add a little goodness to someone’s day. 🙏💗

This is Monica - here with good news! She just got a job at 7-11 - a job that can help her move forward with her life.👏🏼🙏

There was a time when we first met Monica that things were rough for her - her husband had died and she was staying on in their house, but she had no income, so no water, no electricity, and finally eviction.😞

She found a place to stay with a friend helping to care for an elderly woman. But she still comes to the Showering Love bus for visits with friends and team members.

Monica says that Showering Love has been a godsend for her - that when she had nothing - no food and nowhere to shower - she knew where she could go on Tuesdays to get what she needed!😇

We are so glad to hear this good news and wish much success for our friend, Monica!🙏

This is Lynn and Kelly, a nice couple we met who are from Pennsylvania. They are trying to get into a shelter but there’s a long wait list.😞

They talked about how much they appreciated Showering Love. It’s so hot out there right now and a person sweats so much! Hard to get a job when you have to go in all dirty, sweaty, and smelly!🥴

But after a shower - with clean clothes and everything - well, that’s a different story! Now they feel so much better about themselves - and hopeful! Lynn and Kelly are grateful to Showering Love for giving them hope in finding jobs!😊🤞🙏

This is Mimi. She’s originally from Syosett, New York. She came to Miami, but now she lives in Fort Lauderdale. Well, not exactly - because Mimi is homeless - since 2022.😞

We don’t know her whole story - we only know she needs our help - and that’s enough. She comes to our Showering Love bus every week for a shower and is so grateful!❤️

Mimi has hope for her future since she will soon receive a settlement for a slip and fall injury. Hopefully, it will be enough to get a place of her own and a start on a stable life!🙏

Rest In Peace , RJ.

We met him while he was working at Julibee. Showering Love used to bring our mobile shower bus there - we did it for several years - so we got to know RJ pretty well.

He had a huge heart for people in need and would go out of his way to help someone. Unfortunately, he became ill and unexpectedly passed away recently. Our hearts are sad and our prayers are with his family and friends. He will be missed.

We’re always in need of containers to store snacks and other essentials.

We want to thank Carolina for purchasing these new locking containers for us. They help us keep things neat, fresh - and organized.😊

Showering Love has storage for all of our supplies - t-shirts (all folded and sized), underwear, socks, outer clothes, towels, hygiene items, laundry and cleaning supplies! And the list goes on! Can you imagine having all that stuff and NOT being organized? Chaos!🥴

That’s why we’re SO grateful.😇

This is Mike - he’s originally from Rochester, New York. He moved to Atlanta and then finally decided to settle here in Florida.👋

He did ok for awhile - but then, like many others, had money troubles and wound up homeless 😞

Since he found out about Showering Love’s mobile shower bus, he’s been coming to us to clean up, eat, and get clean clothes. Now he has a part time job and he keeps coming to us because he wants to keep it!😊

Mike is hoping that part time job will lead to bigger and better things - he’s not afraid to work hard to make it happen. Let’s cheer him on and pray he’s successful! Go, Mike, go!👏🏼👏🏼

This is Kimberly, originally from Atlanta, Georgia.

People come to Florida for many reasons - the weather, family, jobs - but it doesn’t always work out.
Kimberly has been here for 3 months and is now homeless. 😞

She found Showering Love through word of mouth - our reputation has spread throughout the homeless community. She is very grateful for our showers, food, and clean clothes! We restore hope and dignity one shower at a time. 😃
