We have been partnering with Ruth Ministry at United Church of Christ Fort Lauderdale for about 6 years now. 👏🏼

It’s a great program and we’re happy to participate with them. On Thursdays at the church, they offer a hot lunch, clothing, and access to other resources for unhoused people - including a shower from us, Showering Love!🥘👔🚿

We also have a clothes closet and we are happy to again donate 10 bags of clothing to their mission. 😊Collaborations are so important between nonprofits. We help each other - because it takes a village.😁😃😊😎👋

The Community Foundation of Broward invited Showering Love to this OIC of South Florida event. Jeanne Lewis Albaugh and Penny Leonard attended. We were so honored to have been invited!😊

OIC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people who are struggling financially to achieve self sufficiency. They offer workforce training programs for those who are unemployed, underemployed, or unskilled. 😇

Naturally, we were very interested to attend! It was a very informative evening and we are grateful to have been invited.😃

This is team member, Theresa, with a lady from Bridging the Gap at an event Showering Love participated in.👏🏼

Bridging the Gap is part of a community outreach project to bring resources directly to the people who need them - like help with: employment, education, housing, health, and finance.😇

We were happy to help with showers, hygiene products, and clean clothes - it’s what we do!😃

What a Dream Team we have!!

Our Showering Love team worked so hard last week. We moved over 300 boxes from Bombas!We restocked our storage unit. Then some went into our warehouse.

We have a such a great team. They are dedicated and are willing to help wherever needed. They are on the bus helping our guests with care and compassion - and then here they are moving boxes!!💪

You’ve heard us say “Would you drop your drawers for a good cause?” or “Would you give us the shirt off your back?” when we’ve needed underwear or t-shirts. And you always respond! What generous people you are!😇

Today, we don’t have a catchy phrase - at least one that would be appropriate. 😉But here we are, asking for help - Showering Love needs sport bras. They can even be gently used! This is a real need for real people - can you help?🙏

This is Larry - he’s another of our Showering Love success stories!!!

Larry is 42, has been showering with us awhile. He got a job, and since he’s been able to shower regularly, he’s held that job for 6 months! He got into a shelter and will soon be moving in with a family member.

He’s a perfect example of what we try to achieve every day: increased self-esteem which increases self confidence and that means hope and dignity restored!

We couldn’t do this without your help! Thank you!

This is Raji, one of our guests who is experiencing homelessness. 👋

Raji was a full time caregiver for his parents. He cared for them both until they passed away. Then he had a stroke and became 80% disabled. Unfortunately, he has been unable to get disability support from the government.😳

It doesn’t seem like he would have much to be grateful for - but he is very grateful for Showering Love! He loves coming to the bus, being greeted by the team, enjoying a good lunch, and leaving in clean clothes after a shower. 😊

These are things most of us take for granted, but Raji knows just how special they are. We hope and pray that he finds funds and shelter soon.🙏
