📣 July Graduate Testimony! 👇🏼
My name is Alexis and I’m 24 years old. Growing up I was often alone, and pretty much took care of
myself. I felt very rejected and worthless as both of my parents were in addiction, and I started smoking
ma*****na at the age of 15. Quickly this spiraled out of control and I began sneaking out, and became
very rebellious towards my parents. I dropped out of high school at the end of 9 th grade and got into pills
and other drugs. This would be the worst 7 years of my life as I did things I never thought I would do to
get high. I got pregnant with a beautiful little girl who I ended up losing custody of because of addiction.
I was in and out of jail and homeless, and ended up being court ordered to Teen Challenge.
Coming into Teen Challenge I was highly immature, and didn’t want to be in the program. I had a huge
struggle with being there, and was very grateful that the staff was patient with me while I went through
that negative mindset. As I began to read the bible for the first time, and accept Jesus as my Lord and
Savior, I began to see changes in the way I viewed life, others, and myself, and for the first time truly
believed that I could have an amazing future. I was able to forgive my parents for everything they put
me through, and myself for what I put my daughter through. I experienced healing from anxiety,
depression, and ADHD as I had always been on medication. I have also learned how to have healthy
relationships with others including my family. I will be doing an internship at the Davie Women’s Home
when I graduate, and I am so excited for my future!
