Welcome Kira! We are so happy to have been a part of bringing you to David City. Investing in our communities to make them safe is so important to us!

We are excited to introduce Kira badge number 46-1! She is DCPD's newest addition! Kira comes to us from Seward County and both her parents are working K-9's! Right now Kira is adapting to her new surroundings, her routine and her handler. In about 1 month, Kira and her handler, Officer Dunn, will begin her intense training to become a strong asset to our community. David City, be proud because you helped greatly with this by participating in fundraisers to purchase her. Community grants and fundraisers made it possible to bring Kira on to our team! Remember if you see her with Officer Dunn, ask first before approaching her.

Our hearts and prayers are with the family of Betty Tarr. Betty and her husband Jack were part of the visionaries who helped start our foundation fund in 1982. They gave so much to the David City community and their legacy will live on for years to come!

Thank you to all of our first responders! The Butler County Area Foundation Fund appreciates all you do for our families, friends, residents of Butler County and those who live around us. A HUGE thank you to all!

ONE FOR THE BOOKS. 🚒🔥
From Saturday at 4:25 PM until Sunday night, our crews worked tirelessly at the County Road G fire to manage a 100-acre wooded fire. This was a massive undertaking, and we couldn't have done it alone.

A huge thank you to the 25 different entities that stepped up to help us. From the initial call to the final cleanup, the teamwork was incredible. A special shout-out to the Sunday crew —the paths you cut through the timber to mop up the scene was impressive and much appreciated. Another shout-out to our local farmers who dropped everything to bring out their tractors and discs. Those fire lines were critical in stopping the spread and protecting the surrounding ground. All of this work kept numerous homes and families safe.

Weston is lucky to have neighbors like you. Thank you for the help!
