🎃👻 Happy Halloween, ghosts and ghouls! 👻🎃

Your want everyone to have a safe and spooktacular Trick-or-Treat tonight! 🍬

🚒 Halloween Safety Tips:
✨ Stick to well-lit areas and carry a flashlight or glow sticks.
🚶 Walk—don’t run—between houses, and always look both ways before crossing the street.
🎭 Make sure costumes are visible and don’t block your vision.
🍭 Check your treats before you eat!

Those kids dressed as firefighters deserve full-size candy bars, and our little police officers? They get popcorn balls! 🍫🍿

🎉 Congratulations, Carrie Kimmel! 🎉

Earlier this week the Muscular Dystrophy Association of the 2nd District honored one of our own—Local 17’s Carrie Kimmel—with the prestigious Bob Palmer Award!

For the past 18 years, have known that Carrie was the heart and soul behind our MDA efforts. Now, the entire district knows it too!

Carrie has selflessly dedicated her time, energy, and passion to ensure our team had the best shot at success in supporting MDA and those living with Muscular Dystrophy and other neuromuscular diseases. Her leadership, commitment, and compassion have made an immeasurable impact—not only on our Local but on countless lives.

While Carrie has recently stepped down as MDA Coordinator, we know this isn’t goodbye. The “boots” may be big to “fill”, but we’re pretty sure we’ll still see her out there—collecting, supporting, and continuing to inspire.

Thank you, Carrie, for everything. You’ve set the bar high—and we’re all better for it. 👏❤️

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." – Helen Keller

When we found out one of our own—standing strong beside his family while his child is in a fight against cancer—heats their home with a wood burner, we knew we had to act.

Yesterday, Local 17 members stepped up. With help from Bluff Top Meadows, who generously donated trees, our team spent the day cutting and splitting firewood. The wood was delivered straight to his home—hopefully enough to keep his family warm all winter.

This is what brotherhood looks like. 💪🔥
