🌿✨GIFT GARDENER SPOTLIGHT🌿✨
For nearly 25 years, Matt Schroeder has approached gardening with a simple philosophy: "Just throw something in the ground and see if it grows. If it doesn’t, plant something else." 😉
His backyard is a "free-range" garden packed with flowers, vegetables, and creative growing solutions—from arched cattle panels for vertical growing to upcycled shelving transformed into seed-starting stations and season extenders.
This spring, dozens of starter plants from Matt's garden found new homes at the Floreciente Community Garden, Thurgood Marshall Learning Center Garden, and several Tapestry Farms garden sites.
This year he's growing tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, watermelon, and maybe even peaches (if he can outsmart the squirrels).
We're grateful for good-humored GIFT gardeners like Matt, whose generosity helps to keep our community fed. 💚
