The fight for a Community ID continues in Davenport!
A community ID could create a better and stronger relationship between the law enforcement and residentsof Davenport, has the potential to assist first responders on a daily basis with the information that will be included on the card such as allergies or other medical conditions, can help people seeking second chances to get on a right path by being able to apply for jobs and housing although it can not be for proof of ability to work on the US it can help/speed the process to obtain the right documentation.
On addition to all these features we can say the perk that come with it, discounted admission to museums, discounts at local businesses and much more.
What is Davenport waiting for to implement their own
Community ID?

Lack of identification impacts Davenport residents’ ability to access essential services. Local groups are pushing for a community ID to help marginalized communities gain basic access and rebuild their lives.

“Creating a more just society”

Quad Cities Interfaith (QCI) is a non-profit organization of 29+ congregations and community groups whose purpose is to build local leadership and address community issues in the Quad Cities region of Illinois and Iowa. We are also expanding into Johnson and Clinton Counties. QCI strives to improve the quality of life in our region by developing community leadership in congregations and other institutions, so as to bring our values into public dialogue, and work together to speak with a strong, unified voice in the decisions that affect our lives.

WHAT WE DO: We build strong congregations. We develop powerful leaders through training. We organize influential advocacy & nonpartisan civic engagement campaigns.

FAITH-BASED ORGANIZING: Faith-based organizing utilizes congregations and community organizations as the center for creating positive social change.

By empowering ordinary people to become powerful leaders, we make systemic, sustainable changes in the public policies that govern issues, including racial and criminal justice, economic development, jobs, education, transportation, health equity, voter engagement, and immigration.
