Amy's Gift is excited to announce that we will be facilitating two events this January using the BE REAL Body Confident materials for the adults in children's lives:

BODY CONFIDENT KIDS
Thursday, Jan. 15th, 6:00-7:00PM
Rock Island Library- Watts-Midtown Branch
RSVP Here: https://www.rockislandlibrary.org/.../creating-body...

BODY CONFIDENT SCHOOLS
Monday, Jan. 19th, 8:00-11:00AM
Rock Island Regional Office of Education
RSVP Here: https://www.riroe.com/forms/1924

Research ties body dissatisfaction to eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation (Perkins & Brausch, 2019; McLean et al., 2022). Young people who don't like their bodies often
suffer from low self-esteem and are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol (Bornioli et al., 2019). To help with these mental health issues, BE REAL created research-based Body Confident Schools professional development workshops to give body confidence tools to the adults in children's lives.

If you are interested, please RSVP via the links posted above!
