We are incredibly grateful to the Regional Development Authority for its generous $25,000 investment in Dress for Success Quad Cities to support a Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator position.

This funding will help us expand our impact by recruiting, training, and supporting a strong volunteer network to meet the growing needs of women across our region, including those in Rock Island. Through this role, we will strengthen partnerships with local employers, colleges, workforce agencies, and civic organizations to build a sustainable pipeline of dedicated volunteers.

These efforts will ensure continued access to vital services such as interview and employment suitings, career coaching, and educational programs that help women secure employment, retain jobs, and advance in their careers.

Thank you, Regional Development Authority, for believing in our mission and helping us empower more women to achieve economic independence and career success throughout the Quad Cities region.

Hip hip hooray! We made it to Wednesday! Today we want to celebrate the "half-way-to-Friday" mark with a big THANK YOU to Regional Development Authority for awarding us a grant in their spring cycle. It is with generosity like that we can best serve our community in the QCA.

We are incredibly grateful to Regional Development Authority for awarding us a grant that will help stock the shelves at our Empowerment Center with much-needed hygiene products. Each week, we serve around 200 people, and hygiene items are among the most requested essentials.

Generosity like this does more than provide supplies — it helps restore dignity and supports basic human rights. Everyone deserves access to essential needs and the opportunity to care for themselves and their families with dignity.

Grantee Spotlight: ICAN - Iowa College Access Network

RDA supported the Future Ready initiative, helping strengthen career and college readiness efforts for students and families across Scott County. Through workshops, financial aid support, career exploration programming, and parent engagement efforts, families gained the tools and information needed to make informed postsecondary decisions with confidence. The initiative improved communication between schools and families, increased participation in college and career planning activities, and helped students better align academic goals with future opportunities. By embedding family engagement into existing school and community structures, the project expanded access to critical resources and strengthened pathways to long-term educational and workforce success.

Grantee Spotlight: Humane Society of Scott County

RDA supported Phase 1 of the Humane Society of Scott County’s facility expansion, helping transform a newly acquired space into the future Lost Pet & Resource Center. The completed renovations are already improving animal care operations by reducing overcrowding, improving workflow, and creating a safer, more welcoming environment for pets, staff, and visitors. This expansion also lays the groundwork for growing community services such as pet reunification, low-cost clinics, and pet food support—helping more families keep pets in loving homes while strengthening long-term sustainability for animal services in Scott County.

This Spring, the Regional Development Authority proudly invested $1,975,156 across 54 grant awards to organizations serving the Quad Cities region. Grantee Spotlight: My GEAR Outreach

RDA supported My GEAR’s efforts to provide essential items and comfort care duffle bags for Scott County children entering foster care or alternative placements. By ensuring children received age-appropriate necessities within the first 24 hours of removal, the program helped reduce stress and uncertainty during traumatic transitions while restoring dignity for children who often arrive with few or no personal belongings. The initiative also eased financial burdens for foster families, strengthened coordination with child welfare partners, and improved the efficiency of emergency response efforts. As referrals continue to grow, My GEAR is expanding its reach to ensure every child experiencing placement receives immediate support, comfort, and care.
