Caring for Our Community Parish Nursing Program: In partnership with UnityPoint Trinity Parish Nursing and Health Ministry, Christian Care is able to provide on-site basic medical and preventative healthcare. This program can offer medical assessments, blood pressure screenings, education on health, wellness and medication, and community referrals. Services are available to anybody accessing our community meal site.

A parish nurse is available every Wednesday from 11:00AM – 1:00PM.

The average pay in the QCA is $23.53.
Our region is facing a shortage of affordable housing units for households with extremely low incomes in particular. All while rising rents, limited housing supply, and other economic pressures are making it harder for individuals to find and maintain safe, decent and affordable housing.

Housing Wages for a one bedroom across the U.S. exceed not just the minimum wages in all states and nearly all counties, but also the median wages of workers in many of the most common occupations.

Sending love to Gene's friends, family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory continue to be a light in the darkness 🕊

Let me tell you about our friend Gene.

He was one hell of a fella.

We became friends when our theatre was located at 320 N. Main. Gene was a resident there, and we’d often see him outside the building and it was ALWAYS a joy. He was always friendly, always curious, and always happy to stop and chat.

When the building collapsed, Gene was one of the people we kept searching for in the rescue areas. And thankfully we did find him. This photo is of the two of us from that night.

Gene was also an avid Living Local fan, and because of that, we stayed in touch through letters and, eventually, phone calls to the station.

He was truly one of a kind: a gem of a person who left an impression on everyone lucky enough to know him.

He was a true light in the darkness.

He will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace, Gene.
