Yesterday a gentleman visited our Empowerment center seeking services. He kindly asked for some food and to look at our clothing closet. After selecting what he needed, he noticed another client waiting and took a moment to warmly greet them, engaging in a brief yet heartfelt conversation. Before leaving, he turned to our Officer Coordinator and said “I have $2 on me, and I’d like to donate it.” She kindly told him that it wasn’t necessary and that our services are always free.

He would not take no for an answer, handing her the two-dollar bills, wishing the other client well, and leaving, not knowing the impact he had on the office. During times of uncertainty and stress, moments like this remind us of the impact that every little action can have.

Random acts of kindness like this do not go unnoticed at our office. I encourage you to do just a small act of kindness today. While it may not affect you, it will ripple into the community and may have a greater impact than you know. 🧡
