Des Moines Area Picnic is coming up this Saturday in Knoxville! Waterloo is next Saturday, July 26th and Beardstown is on August 9th! We look forward to seeing everyone! 🥳

Due to flooding, we have to move our Davenport Picnic to the Union Hall! Please bring a chair and join us for some delicious food. We are doing raffles for prizes and school supply giveaway again this year. See you tomorrow!

The annual meetings for the Active Ballot Club, Voluntary Death Benefit Program, and UFCW Building Corp. will be held at 5pm tonight at the Davenport Union Hall!

Recently Local 431 sponsored 9 members for the UCAN Program (United Citizen Action Network), which assists members who are lawful permanent residents with finding legal counsel, obtaining proper documentation, and other resources to become United States citizens. The New American Citizenship Fund, alongside the UCAN Program, was created by the UFCW United Latinos and awards $600 scholarships to help alleviate the financial burden on members who have applied for US citizenship. Last week we held a two day training for Plant Representatives and Chief Stewards presented by Paul Iverson from the University of Iowa Labor Center! Stewards were excited to learn more in depth information that will help them better serve our members. We are planning more steward training workshops in the near future!🤩
