Getting stuff ready for the rock and gem show in October. Opinion please. Pet rocks made already $1 each or a set of 12 to do yourself for $12. Set includes 12 rocks 24 eyes new black marker and gel super glue. Should I do both? Or one or the other.

Our next meeting is Sept 5th at Dahl Ford Meeting room above the showroom. Meeting starts at 3pm. We will be making Gem trees from 3pm - 5pm. As always no charge to members. Meeting to follow at 5pm. Education will be Rare Gems and Zircon. You have rare gem jewelry please wear it and show it off. Silent auction at the end of the meeting and door prizes. We will have our volunteer schedule for the October show. Please help. This is how we do all the things we do all year so there is no cost to you!. Any questions contact us. Everyone getting excited about next Saturday? August 1st is our meeting, opening up Concretions and hunting for the Trolls in Clinton Iowa. Everyone will meet at Cliff and Deb Orey's house at 3PM. We will hunt for the trolls around Clinton first (see pictures of the trolls), when we get back we will open Concretions and hopefully find some fossils in them and the Meeting will follow. The theme this month is Fossils. As always if you have a fossil you would like to show and tell bring it. Door prizes and our silent auction will follow the meeting. If you have anything you would like to put in the silent auction please bring it and maybe make some cash. Rain of shine. Cliff and Deb will have a tent sent up outside. Thanks to everyone that came to our wet polishing event. We have a great time. 32 members had fun wet polishing rocks, cleaning snails, cutting rocks and eating lots of great food. We can't forget the most important thing, great conversations. Thank you everyone that came it made it a memorable event.

Next meeting is July 11th at 3PM at the upper building at Dahl Ford. We will be sifting opals from gold enriched dirt. Guaranteed to get opal and maybe even a small piece of gold. Meeting to follow the sifting of opals. Our education will be on Opals. Like always there will be a silent auction at the end of the meeting. Bring your cash and get some great deals. If you have something you would like to put in the auction please bring it so you can make some $'s. 3 door prices will be given out this month. Please sign in and fill your name out on the slips for the drawings. Bring your chairs since there is no chairs in the upper building. If it gets to hot after the sifting we will move to the air condition upstairs in the showroom. Hope to see everyone there.
