Two days until Twine Ball Day! Weather is looking beautiful, so please join us in Darwin this Saturday as we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Francis A. Johnson’s ball of twine, which he rolled from 1950-1979.

11:00 bean bags - 10:00 registration
12:30 PARADE! - lineup @ 11:30 (no registration needed)
2:00 Minnesota Minn-e-rods
Plus crafts, raffle and great food in the park from Darwin Lions Club, All Saints, St John’s and V’s Grill & Pub and Troubles #2 Restaurant and Bar Darwin at their locations. The museum will also be staffed for much of the day, so pick up your Twine Ball merch and explore Darwin’s rich history. See you on Twine Ball Day!

Twine Ball Day is coming! Please join us this Saturday as we gather to celebrate Francis A. Johnson’s Twine Ball! Our Main Street, as well as the attraction that resides alongside it, will be ready and ALL the days activities (including Minnesota Minn-e-rods) will continue as planned. Reminder that parade entry is free, so please have your group or business join us. Parade line-up begins at 11:30, with 12:30 parade start. See you in Darwin!

Please join us in Veterans Memorial Park today for our formal dedication and community gathering. The event will continue, rain or shine, so please come prepared for potential showers. To all Veterans and their families, we thank you for your service.

‪Please remember to join us for an evening of food and fellowship at the Darwin Community Picnic. Darwin Lions Club will be serving hot dogs, sweet corn, and root beer in the park from 5:30-6:30. It’s free for all Darwin Community members. Hope to see you all tonight!‬

Darwin Lions will be serving hamburgers, brats, hotdogs, COLD BEER and root beer in the park from 9:30 am - 11:00 pm this Saturday. Also have new style Twine Ball Day mugs. Pick one up and get a value on beer the rest of the day. See you August 12th for the 26th Annual Twine Ball Day!

There are still some tickets available for the 31st Annual Darwin Lions Las Vegas Stag - held at the Darwin Rod and Gun Club on Friday, January 10th. Prime rib meal, beverages, raffle and access to games are included with the $45 ticket. Proceeds from the fundraiser help the Lions in our mission of serving the Darwin community. Scholarships, community improvement projects, donations to individuals in need, contributions to groups that serve the surrounding area, including locals food shelves, are just some of the many ways we utilize the money that our fundraisers take in.
