I’d like to thank Cub Scout Troop 399 for coming out and learning about blacksmithing on Saturday. It was busy but a lot of fun. Hopefully some of these kids get the bug and stay with it.

We will be hosting Cub Scout Pack 399 at next weeks Jan 14th meeting. We will still be there from 9-Noonish but the scouts will be arriving at 10am. We are expecting about 20 scouts and parents so all of the help we can get will be appreciated.

Also please be aware that Boonville-New Harmony Road is closed at the railroad tracks so you will not be able to get to the 4H Center from Highway 41 from this intersection. CSX appears to be working on the railroad crossing.

Edit: Gate 3 off of Old State Rd is open.

Small numbers today but we had fun. Made some round punches and took them from 5/8 starting stock, forged, then took them thru heat treating so the two students could leave with a fully functional tool to add to their collection. These punches will be useful in the Gate Hook project for level 1 certification.

On another good not CJ came out and assisted with the teaching.

No meeting next month due to Classic Iron but we will be out there demonstrating.

Friendly reminder we will meet at 9am tomorrow due to the cold temperatures last weekend. Tomorrow's guild project will be forging a leaf. Hope to see everyone there!

Due to the expected cold temps we are going to move the hammer in from this Saturday to next March 19th. Several members reached out requesting this and after discussing it we didn’t see a problem with that. Sorry for any inconvenience.
