Join to give valuable input about the economic progression of our communities and county! We hope to keep alumni updated on what is happening in Lafayette County in terms of community development. The Lafayette Youth in Government (YIG) is a close-knit group of students from area school districts focusing on decreasing the Brain Drain. What is the Brain Drain, you might ask? The Brain Drain is whe

n the younger generations graduate high school, move onto college in another county, and move toward more populated areas due to job opportunities and greater economic development. Without the youth in the county, local businesses suffer and there is a lack of fresh, new ideas about how things work. The YIG has distributed and compiled surveys with questions concerning the needs in Lafayette County. Here are a few questions for you to think about and post:

2. What do the younger generations need in order to return to their hometowns?
3. What do YOU feel are the strengths of the county?
4. What can we improve in our county?
