Among our local projects, the Darlington Kiwanis Club organizes the Annual Carolighting Ceremony in December. The club also gives out $1,500 scholarships each year. We raise funds for this through the annual Oyster Roast in March. Other activities include Terrific Kids, Dixie Youth Baseball, The Lord Cares, the annual turkey giveaway, Pee Dee Boy Scouts and All A's Recognition. New this year, 2011
, the Darlington Kiwanis Club is sponsoring the Darlington High School Key Club. Caitlyn Chew has graciously decided to be the faculty advisor for the club. To date, the group has been very active helping out at the Darlington Boys & Girls Club, the city administration building and the McLeod Children's Hospital. The students also helped with the annual Carolighting in December. We are working with the elementary schools in Darlington to contribute volunteers for a reading/mentoring program.
