Continuing with our Spring Appeal, NCNW is ready to take action during this mid-term election year with your support. Dr. Dorothy I. Height led the National Council of Negro Women with discipline and vision, building on the foundation of Mary McLeod Bethune. A central figure in the Civil Rights Movement, she worked closely with leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. and A. Philip Randolph, and was the only woman regularly included in high-level strategy meetings of the “Big Six.” She helped organize the March on Washington, advocated for voting rights and desegregation, and ensured Black women’s voices were represented at the national level.
