This year, for the first time in 23 years, due to safely concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic we were unable to travel to McCreary County, Kentucky to build a home for a family living in poverty. But that didn’t stop us from working to improve the lives of those less fortunate with the help of our loyal donors and local builders.

As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has been a public health challenge across all regions of our country. It is with this reality and concern for the health and safety of our volunteers, builders and recipient families that we postponed building our next home until June, 2021.

This is a particularly challenging time as the economic fallout from COVID-19 will continue to impact the community we serve for some time. With this in mind, we wanted to make a meaningful short-term contribution to help improve the daily lives of those in need. We are, therefore, happy to announce three “mini” projects.

We would like to thank you, our donors who helped make these projects a reality and the daily lives of Roger, Monica and Wlima a little bit easier.

As we look ahead with optimism and hope towards building next year, we wish everyone a safe and healthy summer!

Attention Darien High School parents!!! Interested in spending quality bonding time with your teenager while working together to build a new home for a deserving family in need? Please encourage your student to visit our table at the Volunteer Fair in the DHS Courtyard this Thursday, October 3rd from 11:00am to 12:30pm. Great opportunity to learn more about the Joshua House Fund experience directly from fellow students as well as parents who've recently been on the trip!
