Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. - Romans 12.12

What an incredible challenge! Three simple things that can completely alter our experience and our perspective.

Conflict at home? Difficulty at work? Health challenges? Financial stress? Major life decisions? Massive disappointments?

Regardless of the situation or context, this is God’s encouragement to you … Rejoice (in hope). Be patient (in tribulation). Pray (constantly).

Rejoice in hope knowing that God is sovereign and He has promised to work all things together for good. Be patient in your tribulation knowing that even the darkest valley is a temporary reality and that His promises of blessing are eternal and unwavering. Pray constantly because you know how easy it is to grow weary and give in to discouragement.

Approaching life through this lens may not immediately change your circumstances. God’s answers or interventions might not become instantaneously clear. But these spiritual rhythms will ground you in the reality of God’s faithfulness and assurances as you face the journey ahead.

So what are you struggling with and through today? What battles are you fighting? What enemies are you facing? How can you reshape your response as you …

Generosity is the proof of our love.

It’s by no means the only way we show our earnestness or sincerity. But it is undoubtedly one of the ways we express the measure of our affection for God and His Kingdom!

In 2 Corinthians 8, Paul is encouraging the church in Corinth to “excel in this act of grace” (i.e. giving). One of the ways he challenges them is through the example of the church in Macedonia who even though they were poor and persecuted still begged Paul for the chance to give (and even gave “beyond their means”)!

Paul points to their passion as proof of their love and invites the Corinthians to do the same.

So how about you and me? If people looked at our generosity would they see a clear and unmistakable zeal for Christ and His people? Would our ultimate allegiance be easily identified through our gifts? Or would our priorities appear messy and misguided

Bottom line - what we do with our resources reveals our heart and true commitment. So let’s give!
