🇺🇸💚 As America prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, McIntosh County has plenty to be proud of!
Two years ago, thanks to the leadership and support of McIntosh County Board of Commissioners Chair Kate Karwacki, McIntosh County became one of the first communities in the country to sign on to Keep America Beautiful’s initiative—a nationwide movement to create cleaner, greener, more beautiful communities ahead of America’s 250th birthday.
And wow… look what our community has accomplished together. 👏
From countless litter pickups along roads, parks, and public spaces…
♻️ Tire amnesty days and recycling events keeping tons of waste out of our environment…
🌳 Tree giveaways and community plantings adding beauty and shade for generations to come…
🏚️ The removal of abandoned buildings that once stood as blight, now transformed into opportunity…
📚 And our most recent Library Beautification Project, creating a welcoming, vibrant space for the whole community to enjoy (if you haven’t seen it yet, go take a look—it’s beautiful!).
None of this happens solo. Keep McIntosh Beautiful may help spark the work, but it takes a village to make real change.
Thank you to the McIntosh County Commissioners, Amwaste, SA Recycling, Sensible Recycling, Georgia Environmental Protection Division, our incredible year-round partners, volunteers, and every Adopt-A-Highway, Park, and Spot group who roll up their sleeves to help us love where we live.
This is what community pride looks like. 🇺🇸💚 Here’s to continuing the momentum as we head toward America’s 250th!
