Calling all patriotic Darienites!

Please join us, along with special guest musical star Griffin House and nationally acclaimed local author John C. Allen IV, as we gather to march and celebrate our great nation’s 250th anniversary!

All info in our invite above and all are welcome. A suggested donation of $25 per family will aid our goal of restoring the VFW Post to honor the great men and women of our region who have served our nation so valiantly.

Griffin House will be performing the tunes and local author John C. Allen IV, Author of 250 Years Young: Happy Birthday, America!, will be signing copies of his book, the official children’s keepsake of the 250th and an official publication of the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission.

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, a limited number of signed copies will be gifted to families, including to the parade contest winners. After gifted copies are distributed, 25.0% of proceeds from additional book sales will be donated to the VFW in honor of America’s 250th.

Don’t miss out on our upcoming VFW dedication ceremony this August, as we officially rename Darien Memorial Post 6933 after Special Warfare Operator Chief Brian R. Bill (NSW Development Group (DEVGRU)), who gave his life in service to our country’s freedom and will be forever remembered for his heroism.

🇺🇸 21st ANNUAL PUSH-N-PULL PARADE — JULY 4th, 2026 🇺🇸

Darien VFW Post 6933 is proud to host the 21st Annual Darien Push-n-Pull Parade this Independence Day! 🎆

📋 SCHEDULE:
⏰ 9:30 AM — Declaration Day Ceremony at DHS Courtyard
⏰ 9:45–10:00 AM — Families arrive at Darien High School
⏰ 10:20 AM — Contest winners announced
⏰ 10:30 AM — Parade steps off! 🇺🇸

🚲 THE PARADE:
Decorate your bikes, scooters, wagons & non-motorized vehicles in red, white & blue! The parade travels down Noroton Avenue from Darien High School to VFW Post 6933.

🏆 CONTESTS:
• Best Decorated Vehicle (tricycle, bike, scooter or wagon)
• Best Decorated Float
• Most Patriotic Dressed Family
Winners lead the parade as Honorary Grand Marshals!

🎉 AT THE POST:
Food vendors • Live music • Face painting • Children's activities
