This past month, NHFD participated in the annual extrication night for Post 53’s EMT class. This event is designed to strengthen teamwork and communication during complex emergency operations such as motor vehicle accidents.

Our firefighters worked alongside the EMT class, helping them gain access to mock patients and providing a realistic environment to put their skills and training to the test.

A big thank you to for having us. We’re proud to support the next generation of EMTs and look forward to collaborating again!

Winter’s not over yet ❄️ Blizzard Warning today 1 p.m. through 6 p.m. Monday. In case of emergency, please dial 911. This account is not monitored 24/7.

See important information from & Darien Public Works regarding the blizzard warning in effect.

- Avoid on-street parking for the duration of the storm. Overnight street parking is banned from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. to allow for safe and effective snow and ice removal. The parking ban is in effect until March 1. Violations may result in a $99.00 fine.

- Please make every effort to stay home and off the roads during the storm to allow DPW to clear the roads.

-DPW expects to make multiple passes. Plan your shoveling with that in mind.

-All DPW resources are currently focused on storm preparation.
All other issues are not a priority at this time.
