Jesse Andrews Jr. Detachment, Marine Corps League The Jesse Andrews Jr. Detachment exists to support Marines, Navy Corpsman and other veterans living in Baldwin County. We also participate in Toys for Tots.

We meet the third Tuesday of the month at Beef O’Brady’s in Spanish Fort.

This pic was taken last year. We went to a Marine’s house in Fairhope to celebrate his birthday. A family member was concerned about the Marine being alone. So our Commandant Lew Thomas and Senior Vice Commandant Barry Shiflett paid the Marine a visit with gifts and cake in hand. “Marines helping Marines” is more than words, it is a call to action!

Happy 110th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps Reserve!

On August 29, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson created the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve alongside the creation of the U.S. Navy Reserve.

The reserve started with just 35 members and today has expanded to roughly 40,000 Marine Corps Reservists.
