River DIstrict Triathlon Club

River District Triathlon Club represents a small but growing group of individuals who have banded together with the common goal of growing the endurance sport of triathlon and the sports respective disciplines in the greater Danville, VA area. We identify as the River District Triathlon Club knowing that Danville’s River District can be a pillar for social, economic, and health and wellness growth in the communities of Danville, Pittsylvania County, and their surrounding areas. The club is open to all variations and ability levels of endurance athletes with our focus being in the realm of triathlons. We will be focused on introducing the sport of triathlon to individuals in the community in a way that highlights how fun, awesome, and tough they are, while continually showing them how obtainable participating and finishing a triathlon truly is. In our community, we plan to take an active and immediate role in several key areas where the club sees pressing needs in the area. These areas include, but are not limited to, the need for proper water safety instruction and education for all children. Also, the need to raise awareness among local drivers about laws protecting cyclists in Virginia, and educate them about courtesies they can extend to cyclists on the road.
