Title: Healthy Churches Understand Biblical Conversion
Speaker: Joseph Allen
Series: Healthy Church Distinctives
Date: October 14, 2026
Bible: John 3:1-15

This sermon explores the theological necessity and mechanism of biblical conversion, arguing that it is a fundamental transformation of the heart that the sinner needs. It asserts that human nature is inherently corrupt and incapable of self-redemption, necessitating a supernatural intervention by God. The central message emphasizes that conversion is entirely God's gracious work, initiated by the Holy Spirit through the Word to convict and draw sinners to Christ. This divine action results in genuine repentance and faith, which are presented as gifts granted to the believer rather than human achievements. The sermon concludes by affirming that true conversion produces a changed life characterized by perseverance and fruitfulness, distinguishing genuine faith from external profession.

Title: Sola Fide - Faith Alone
Speaker: Joseph Allen
Series: The Five Solas
Date: October 11, 2026
Bible: Romans 3:21-28

This sermon explores the doctrine of sola fide, or faith alone, as the essential means by which sinners are justified before God. It distinguishes true saving faith from mere intellectual assent or cultural Christianity by outlining three necessary elements: knowledge of the gospel, agreement with its truth, and personal trust in Christ. The message emphasizes that faith is a gift of God’s grace, imparted through the Holy Spirit and the preaching of the Word, rather than a human achievement. It further clarifies the relationship between justification and sanctification, asserting that while works do not contribute to salvation, they serve as the necessary evidence of genuine faith. The sermon concludes by affirming the permanence of this faith, which secures the believer’s future glorification and provides absolute assurance of salvation. www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/101226219371578

Title: Healthy Churches Rightly Know The Gospel
Speaker: Joseph Allen
Series: Healthy Church Distinctives
Date: October 7, 2026
Bible: Galatians 1:6-9

This sermon emphasizes that a healthy church must rightly know and proclaim the true gospel, warning against distortions that dilute its core message. The message begins by establishing humanity's depraved condition and inevitable condemnation, rejecting the notion that sin is trivial or that Christianity is merely a therapeutic addition to life. It then presents the heart of the gospel as Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice, where His death satisfies God’s wrath and His resurrection defeats death, securing eternal life for believers. The sermon concludes by outlining the necessary response to this truth: a call to genuine repentance and faith in Christ alone, rather than a reliance on works or a superficial invitation. The tone is convicting and instructional, urging the church to uphold the full weight of the gospel to ensure spiritual health and doctrinal purity.

Title: Sola Gratia - Grace Alone
Speaker: Joseph Allen
Series: The Five Solas
Date: October 4, 2026
Bible: Romans 5:12-21

This sermon explores the doctrine of sola gratia, or grace alone, as a foundational pillar of the Christian faith and a key principle of the Reformation. It argues that true understanding of God's grace requires a prior recognition of the depth of human sinfulness, which is revealed through Scripture as a state of total depravity and bo***ge. The message contrasts the condemnation brought by Adam with the justification and life offered through Jesus Christ, emphasizing that salvation is entirely God's work, not a human achievement. By rejecting the notion that humans can contribute to their own salvation through works or religious rituals, the sermon highlights the sufficiency of Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross. Ultimately, it presents the Holy Spirit's role in effecting the new birth, asserting that even the faith required for salvation is a gift of God's unmerited favor.
