National Shoot to Retrieve Association

National Shoot to Retrieve Association NSTRA was founded in 1978 by a group of bird hunters to extend the upland bird hunting season. To participate in NSTRA events, you must be a member.

This includes entering a dog, handling a dog, shooting for another handler, judging, bird handling and performing field marshal duties. Membership is a privilege and you must agree to obey all NSTRA rules and regulations. In addition to a current rules booklet, members receive a numbered membership card, a window decal and a patch. Full members receive our bi-monthly magazine and are allowed to vo

te in all regional and national elections of officers and on all proposed rule revisions. A lifetime membership is also available.

These emails may look like they are coming from a NSTRA Board Member or another member you know. In some cases, the sender’s name is correct, but the actual email address is not.

Please take a moment to check the sender’s email address before responding, clicking any links, or opening attachments. If something doesn’t seem right, it probably isn’t.

When in doubt, contact the person directly through a phone call, text message, or a known email address to verify the request.

Please be cautious and help spread the word to fellow members.

We’ve got a room block set up at the Baymont in Dickinson:

🐾 Pet fee waived for NSTRA participants
🍳 Rooms have kitchens (bring your own dishes)

After three days of outstanding competition, we’ve reached the final day of the 2026 Performance Classic sponsored by Asher Products .

Congratulations to today’s placements and all competitors advancing to Round 3. Tomorrow (Saturday), the remaining dogs will battle it out as we move one step closer to crowning the 2026 Performance Classic National Champion.
