Long Post, but a must read‼️
A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who donated pound cakes for our Teen Center Community Service Project at the nursing home today. Your generosity helped make this day incredibly special for so many residents.
I wish each of you could have witnessed what we experienced today. It was absolutely beautiful. Our Teen Center members spent time playing Birthday Bingo with numerous residents, sharing laughter, conversation, and genuine companionship. But what touched my heart most was watching our young people go beyond simply serving. I watched students assist residents by helping them eat, wiping their faces, making sure crumbs were brushed from their clothing, and treating each person with dignity, kindness, and respect.
As we prepared to leave, several residents called out, “Hey you, hey you!” just to tell us how amazing it was to see young people learning how to give back. One resident said, “I can’t wait to see you again.” Another was more concerned about whether they had won a Bingo prize than anything else, and that simple moment reminded me how much joy can be found in the little things.
The smiles, conversations, hugs, and gratitude we received today meant far more than any prize. We are changing lives—not only the lives of those we serve, but also the lives of our youth. We are teaching them the importance of compassion, service, patience, and reciprocity. We are showing them that what they make happen for others, God has a way of making happen for them.
Many of the residents couldn’t stop talking about the pound cake. We heard comments like, “This pound cake is absolutely delicious! Can I have another slice?” It brought so much joy to their day.
Thank you again for every donation, every prayer, and every act of support. Your kindness helped create meaningful memories and reminded our youth of the power of serving others. May God reward each of you openly for helping us make a difference in the lives of others. ❤️
