In 2007, March 25th was recognized as National Medal of Honor Day. Every year since, it has been the official day honoring service members of the U.S. military who’ve demonstrated actions of valor that inspire generations and the nation.

In keeping with this tradition, we once again share with you a bit about John Charles and William Perkins Black. These two brothers from Danville volunteered and fought in the Civil War, joined Olive Branch Lodge 38 after the War, had long and distinguished careers as attorneys and in public service, and eventually became the first pair of brothers to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor for bravery in combat during the War.

Easter Sunrise Service

On behalf of Eminent Grand Commander, and Olive Branch 38 Past Master, Sean P. McBride, you are invited to an outdoor Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday April 5 at 7am. This is home of the "Three Lighted Crosses" at the Holy Communion Chapel, 33 Chapel Lane, Danville, Illinois. Bring a lawn chair for seating. Sir Knights are encouraged to wear your uniform.

Breakfast immediately following at Lelo's Cafe, a short drive down the road.

Lockard DeMolay is hosting a Meet Lockard DeMolay day on Sunday, April 19th at 2:00 pm for anyone interested. Our young men will explain DeMolay and talk about what we do and why they love it. Lockard Chapter will initiate any young man 12-20 years old and Lockard Squire Manor will initiate any young man 9-11 years old that afternoon. Thanks to this program by DeMolay International, there will be no joining fee for anyone initiated that day or anytime in April. We hope to see a lot of people there.

Auditionees should prepare a **40–60 second selection of a song** that demonstrates their vocal ability. The song **does not need to be from the show**. Participants should bring sheet music for the accompanist and clearly mark the portion they plan to sing.
