2:15 p.m. 8/17/25 UPDATE: Adult Detention Center escapee Brett Parrish has been taken into custody in Pittsylvania County.
The Danville Police Department wishes to thank the community for all of their tips, and the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office for getting Parrish into custody.

ORIGINAL NEWS RELEASE: ESCAPED INMATE
The Danville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance locating Brett Landon Parrish, 44, an escaped inmate from Danville Adult Detention Center work crew.
Around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, Parrish walked away from a worksite at H.B. Moorefield Park at 4550 Riverside Drive. He was last seen headed west on Riverside Drive.
Parrish is a white male, 5 foot 8 inches around 150 lbs. He was last known to be wearing blue jeans and a yellow t-shirt. He is serving time for a probation violation, with an underlying charge of burglary. The Danville Police Department is currently using k9’s and aerial assets to locate Parrish.
