Danville Crime Stoppers is pledging $1,000 for a tip that leads to an arrest and conviction following the aggravated assault that occurred in the early morning hours of November 1 in the 600 block of Lynn Street.

The Danville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with video or information relating to an aggravated assault that occurred in the 600 block of Lynn Street on Saturday, Nov. 1.

NEWS RELEASE: Crime Stoppers Pledges $500 for Capture of Escaped Inmate

Danville Crime Stoppers has pledged $500 for a tip that leads to getting Brett Landon Parrish, 44, an escaped inmate from Danville Adult Detention Center work crew, back in custody.

Around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, Parrish walked away from a worksite at H.B. Moorefield Park at 4550 Riverside Drive. He was last seen headed west on Riverside Drive.

Parrish is a white male, 5 foot 8 inches around 150 lbs. He was last known to be wearing blue jeans and a yellow t-shirt. He is serving time for a probation violation, with an underlying charge of burglary. The Danville Police Department is currently using k9’s and aerial assets to locate Parrish.

2:15 p.m. 8/17/25 UPDATE: Adult Detention Center escapee Brett Parrish has been taken into custody in Pittsylvania County.

The Danville Police Department wishes to thank the community for all of their tips, and the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office for getting Parrish into custody.
