The guest speaker at the bi-monthly Danville Kiwanis Club was Tonya Fullerwinder. Tonya and 11 contributing authors have composed a book about what it is like to be an empty nester. The book, EPIC Empty Nesters with EPIC an acronym for empowering, phenomenal, inspiring and courageous. EPIC is a "passion project" and a collection of stories from parents who authentically share their wisdom and experiences navigating the next chapter in their lives. Tony explained to Kiwanis Club members that the "empty nest" that occurs when a child moves away is, in fact, no longer empty! Pictured on the left of Tonya Fullerwinder is Suzie Lea who chairs the Kiwanis Club Program Committee. If interested in Kiwanis membership, contact Suzie Lea at (540) 287-0259 or [email protected] Kiwanis Club meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays at the Averett University Student Union Bldg. beginning at 6:30 p.m.
