In life, we climb two 🏔 mountains…
First is one of success, followed by one of purpose.

But how do we discover our purpose? During the Cultivating Wisdom 🌱workshop last weekend, Chip Conley uses the Japanese secret to a long and happy life, Ikigai, to illustrate how to find where these concepts overlap and how your purpose emerges:
💚 What you love
🌏 What the world needs
🙌🏼 What you are good at
💵 What you can be paid for
With many other gems of creative and unique ways to seek purpose, we all went home with something to put our hearts into making happen now, rather than when it’s too late.

Surviving some of the worst days of our parents aging or our children changing as they grow up would be a hell of a lot worse if it wasn’t for having community 🧡
The connections we have with friends, colleagues, family, and neighbors are so important while we all try and make the best out of the bad days and savor the good days.
Midlife Era Collective is about helping you find your people and marching, crawling, or dancing up the mountain of adulthood together 🌄

Still buzzing from Sunday evening's workshop with Modern Elder Academy co-hosted with Saint Matthew, 🦋 Navigating Transitions.
Life changes are hard, from the new beginnings, the messy middles, and the bittersweet ends. At times we experience what Kari referred to as ⚡️"lifequakes", where life shakes us to our core and rattles our routines - forcing us into uncomfortable spaces. I went home with some tools to push past these times, and our attendees echoed the same testaments.
Thank you Marcus L Jackson Photography for capturing some of the beauty of the event through the photos I'm sharing here. A special shout out to all the supporters tagged here as well for being a part of the logistics.

My life is incredibly busy, but having friends who have already lost their parents or are in the process of loosing them has made this reality really hit home. My mom and dad are not married anymore so visiting them takes two trips to two different areas and sometimes I just can’t get there as often as I’d like. I have to just call instead. But never underestimate a phone call to your parents, to them that might make their day ☺️
