Only Virginia Team Selected: Dream 34 Elite Earns National Spot in Kyrie Irving's Uncle Drew Circuit
DANVILLE, VA - The Wendell Scott Foundation announced that Dream 34 Elite, its grassroots AAU basketball program based in Danville, Virginia, has been selected as the only Virginia team to compete in the High School Varsity Division of the inaugural Uncle Drew Circuit, founded by NBA AlI-Star Kyrie Irving.
The program's name, "Dream 34," honors pioneering driver and team owner Wendell Scott, whose iconic No. 34 car symbolizes perseverance, excellence, and breaking barriers in motorsports.
Chosen from 59 teams across 28 states and three countries, Dream 34 Elite will compete in national stops in Dallas, Las Vegas, and New Jersey. The event features youth divisions (12U-17U), with the first stop taking place this weekend, May 1-3, 2026, placing student-athletes on a national stage and expanding access to high-level competition and visibility.
The team represents not only Danville, but also includes student-athletes from across the region. Led by Reginald Jeffries, a former mentee of the Wendell Scott Foundation, Dream 34 Elite focuses on developing student-athletes through mentorship, discipline, and opportunity, both on and off the court. "This is bigger than basketball. It's about providing opportunity, building confidence, and supporting the total well-being of our student-athletes," said Jeffries.
“We're proud to represent Virginia."
"This opportunity reflects the legacy we carry and the future we are building," said Warrick Scott Sr., CEO of the Wendell Scott Foundation.” Dream 34 is about opening doors, creating access, and ensuring our young people can compete and succeed on any stage or in any classroom."
