CASA of the Bluegrass Give a child a voice today, become a CASA volunteer!

CASA of the Bluegrass recruits and trains Court Appointed Special Advocates so every child who has experienced abuse, neglect, or dependency can be safe and have the opportunity to thrive. CASA of the Bluegrass recruits, trains, and supervises community volunteers who serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA Volunteers advocate for safety and permanency for child victims of abuse, neglect, and dependency in the Family Court System. CASA of the Bluegrass serves the Family Court jurisdictions of Anderson, Boyle, Franklin and Mercer Counties.

🚗 Help us keep CASA on the road! Did you know Kentucky’s CASA specialty license plate could be discontinued in 2027 without 330 more registrations by the end of 2026? 🚗

For just $44, you can help keep the plate in production while spreading awareness of CASA’s mission to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

💙 Here’s how you can help:
📍 Purchase a CASA specialty plate at your local county clerk’s office.
📣 Share this post and encourage friends and family to get one, too!

The plate must be purchased in person initially, but it can be renewed online each year. If your county clerk doesn’t have one in stock, they can order it!

Our hearts are heavy for the Danville community following the heartbreaking loss of a young life this weekend. We’re thinking of his family, friends, teammates, and everyone who loved him.

We can’t shield our kids from every hardship life brings, but we can be present. We can listen. We can show we care.

As a community, let’s keep showing up for our kids and for one another. Not just in the hardest moments, but in the everyday ones, too.

Love them. Support them. Show up.

We know, we know... it’s only October. 😅 2027 will be here before we know it, so we’re giving you a head start!

Our 2027 Guided Learning Class dates are officially here. If becoming a CASA volunteer has been on your heart, this is your sign to make a plan now and pencil us in for next year.

You don’t need a legal background or special experience. You just need the willingness to show up, speak up, and be a consistent voice for a child who needs one.

When violence happens in a home, children are affected too.

They may live with fear and instability that can affect how they feel, behave, learn, and understand relationships. Nationally, nearly 1 in 6 women with children in their homes reported that their child had witnessed emotional intimate partner violence. About 1 in 10 reported that their child had witnessed physical intimate partner violence.

Children do not have to be the direct target of violence to be impacted by it.

For children in our CASA cases, these experiences can affect their safety, well-being, and future. CASA volunteers listen to children, speak up for their needs, and help make sure their voices are heard throughout the court process.

Every child deserves to feel safe. Every child deserves to be heard. Every child deserves the opportunity to heal and thrive.

Our October training will take place in the afternoons in Frankfort, making it a great option for retirees, those with flexible schedules, or anyone who has daytime availability.
