Nominations Are Now Open for the 2027 B. R. Ashby, M.D. Award!
Do you know a nonprofit making an extraordinary difference in the Dan River Region? Now is the time to recognize their impact.
The Danville Regional Foundation (DRF) is accepting nominations for the 2027 B. R. Ashby, M.D. Award for Outstanding Community Service.
🏆 Award: $60,000 unrestricted operating grant
The award honors an outstanding nonprofit that has demonstrated exceptional service in helping individuals and families overcome significant challenges throughout the Dan River Region.
Eligible organizations must:
✅ Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating for at least five years
✅ Be located in Danville or Pittsylvania County, VA, or Caswell County, NC
✅ Primarily serve residents within the DRF service area
💙 Anyone in the community can submit a nomination!
📅 Nomination Deadline: Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

*Please note: Additional eligibility requirements apply. Previous recipients must wait five years before becoming eligible again, and organizations receiving $200,000 or more annually from DRF are not eligible.*
