We love our local library and are so thankful for their participation in Delve into Danville year after year!

We enjoyed visits from more than 250 first-year Centre students who came to see the library on Saturday, part of the college's annual Delve Into Danville event. Many became library card holders. We were pleased to be part of an enjoyable first impression of downtown Danville for Centre students. We welcome all Centre students and new staff. Thanks to the Centre College Office of Civic and Community Engagement.

The 6th Annual Delve into Danville will take place on Saturday, August 22nd from 9:00 - 11:30 am.

This Centre College orientation program is a partnership between Centre's Office of Civic and Community Engagement and the Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce. Delve introduces First-Year students to all that downtown Danville has to offer. Students tour small businesses, non-profit organizations, and the local Farmer's Market. The program is designed to increase students' sense of belonging and connect them with the community they will call home for the next four years.

Downtown businesses and non-profits can find more information and register using the link below. Registration closes August 6th.

The Hope Springs Yard Sale volunteers have been buzzing the past two weeks collecting, sorting, and staging thousands of donated items from across campus. Without dozens of volunteers every year, the Hope Spring Yard Sale would not be possible.

The sale begins Thursday, May 28 at 2:00 and lasts until 6:00 p.m. All remaining items will be heavily discounted on Friday, May 29 from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Set your alarms and mark your calendars! Shoppers get ready because the Hope Springs Yard Sale is here...

Doors open to shoppers at the Seabury Family Tennis Center (820 W Perryville St.) this Thursday, May 28 at 2:00 p.m. and close at 6:00 p.m. Any remaining items will be heavily discounted for sale on Friday, May 29 between 8:00-10:00 a.m.

Only cash, Venmo, and Paypal are accepted.

Here is why your shopping makes an impact. The proceeds from the sale benefit local people with life changing illnesses, specifically multiple sclerosis, or support local nonprofits like The Gladys Project of the Boyle County Homeless Coalition. High value textbooks are either donated to the International Book Project or added to the Grissom Loaning Library at Centre. Finally, unopened nonperishable food items are donated to local food pantries.

In summary, stuff gets diverted from the landfill, this community gets great deals on second-hand items, and the proceeds from the sale are used to help our neighbors here in Danville-Boyle County. Come shop and make an impact!
