We provide a safe landing for any domestic or farm animal in need. We Foster, rehabilitate and find forever homes.

We plan on fundraising to support our medical care needed for feral cat program, farm animals rescued from factory farms and daily care. Kim’s Nurturing Nest is dedicated to increasing knowledge on eating plant-based foods and the health benefits that go along with this lifestyle. We provide a safe landing for any domestic/farm animal in need. We aim to provide the highest level of medical care an

d love to each animal for the rest of their lives, qualified for the exemption under section 501(c)(3) as an organization formed and operated for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

🌱✨ What we grow here at the sanctuary doesn’t just nourish us—it reflects our mission of compassionate, sustainable, and vegan living.

Recently this season, our garden has given us Asian pears, bright blueberries, sweet tomatoes, and avocados and pomegranates from several trees! 🥑🍅🍐🍇

We love being able to grow goodness right here at Kim’s Nurturing Nest.

Ayman is a resilient 12-year-old cat with a story of survival and courage. 💛 He spent his entire life on the streets of Benicia before being rescued about a year ago. 🐈‍⬛

During that time, he was treated for severe dental disease—leaving him with just four molars—and was diagnosed as blind in his left eye.

After a year in a catio, Ayman has now joined us at the sanctuary. He actively seeks connection through gentle chats, slow blinks, and even playful interactions with toys—beautiful signs of trust blossoming. Once he trusts you, he absolutely loves rubbing up against you. 🐾

Through our Senior to Senior Program, Ayman is ready to find a calm, loving home where he can continue to heal, thrive, and enjoy the companionship he’s learning to trust and adore. Could you be the one to give this brave, sweet senior cat his forever retirement home?

“Mom - I promise I am being a good older brother”.

If you have two or more cats, you know they get up to trouble, but the best kind of trouble!! This is Charli and Derrick having fun.

Socialization and having a playmate is incredibly important for cats, especially younger ones, to stimulate their brains and have fun! It also helps keep them entertained so they aren’t getting into trouble “playing” with your house decor haha.

We are back with a Resident Roster Refresh to introduce Lola!

Lola is our Americana hen with feathers on her feet. Lola is blind in her left eye, has five toes, and previously had chronic bumblefoot but we are glad to say that is now healed!

Before coming to the sanctuary, Lola was a house chicken. She is currently 6 years old and lives in the special needs coop. We love having her here!

“I’m Blu ba da dee da da da” - Meet Blu. We thought no song was more fitting than A Decade in Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65 to introduce Blu to you as our resident highlight for today. 🐥

You might remember her from when we introduced her back in June when we took her in. Blu came to us after her family moved to South Carolina. She is the last of her flock and her family didn’t feel like she was young enough to make it cross country for a trip, so she became a resident here at the Sanctuary.

She is an incredibly sweet 8 year old silky frizzle hen and we are so glad to have her!

🐔 Welcome, Coop 🐔💗

Just a few days ago, we rescued this little sweetheart from a local shelter. She weighs barely 2 pounds, her left eye is swollen shut, and she can only stand for a few seconds at a time. 💔

Yesterday, our amazing avian vet at came to assess her and put together a treatment plan. We’re staying hopeful that with the right care, Coop will get stronger and eventually join our special needs flock. 🙏🏻

She’s already stolen our hearts — the sweetest little girl with the gentlest spirit. 💗 We’re all rooting for you, Coop!

🐷✨ Big news for Savannah, Boston, and Trenton! ✨🐷

These three sweet pigs have been part of our sanctuary family for a couple months since we rescued them — and we’ve loved every minute of watching their personalities shine 💛

Now, they’re off to their forever home together in Sonoma! We couldn’t be happier knowing they’ll have more space to roam. 🐾

The video shows a little behind-the-scenes look at their crate training before the big move — an important step to make sure the transition was as safe and stress-free as possible. We’re thrilled to share that they’re already settling in beautifully at their new home.

We’ll miss them here, but our hearts are so full knowing they get to stay together and live the happy, spacious life they deserve. 🐖🐖🐖

Today’s adoption highlight comes closely after yesterday’s, because our highlight today is Zaria, Zayla’s sister!

Zaria is also one of Athena’s daughters and thankfully safely made it out after Athena fought off coyotes for Zaria and her sister. 🐈

This sweet tabby girl has a gentle charm that sneaks up on you. She’s a little quieter and more independent than her sister, but don’t let that fool you — she’s silly, spunky, and a total pro at catching bugs (her secret superhero skill 🦋).

Like her sister, Zaria has a serious weakness for push-up treats and feather toys. 🐾

Zaria absolutely loves her sister Zayla, and their bond is something special. While it is possible to adopt Zaria on her own, it would be great for the two to be adopted together.

🐈‍⬛ Meet Zayla, daughter of our brave warrior mama, Athena, who fought off coyotes for her kittens. She is a stunning little black cat in need of a home.

💕 Zayla is clever, playful, and always ready to explore a new corner of the world. She is loving, curious, and loves her feather toys! She’ll even come running the moment she hears the opening of a push-up treat!

Behind all that playful energy, Zayla is incredibly affectionate. After zoomies and adventures, she’ll happily curl up in your lap for snuggles. She just needs a little time to get to know her new people, and then her heart will shine.

Zayla adores her sister, Zaria, and the two share a special bond. While each kitten could blossom on their own, adopting them together would bring double the love, laughter, and silliness.
