Hi Everyone! We’ve got some news to share with our poke fam.
Having a restaurant has been super rewarding. We opened Lolo Poke with ZERO industry experience.. along the way we welcomed customer feedback, learned a TON, and survived a pandemic.. all thanks to our awesome customers and hard working teams. We were self employed for many years prior to opening Lolo, but this industry was a new project for us and we’re super proud of what we were able to accomplish, especially with how insane everything was the last few years!
That being said, in the interest of full transparency, we had a customer approach us about purchasing our business. As two owners who haven’t been super involved in a long time, with zero desire to integrate back into the restaurant, who definitely hit burnout from the stress of weathering Covid, and who quite honestly had their hearts set on a different entrepreneurial adventure for a while, we felt ready to talk about selling, and the more we talked about it, the more it appealed to us. We were ready to say goodbye, move on, build something new for us and our kiddos to enjoy and benefit from.
Well, the deal didn’t go through so it came time for us to discuss renewing our lease (our original plan), or saying goodbye and moving on like we had our hearts set on. After chatting a loooooong time, we have made the hard decision that it’s time for us to move on. We just don’t have the time to invest in the restaurant with two young and busy kids, another business/job, the craziness of life, etc..
We want to truly thank all of our amazing customers for showing up week after week and our employees who allowed us the freedom to do what we enjoy for so long.
We appreciate the Aloha!
As we move forward, just know that we will always have a special place in our hearts for Beverly and for our little poke shop fam ❤️
Mahalo for the ride of a lifetime!
