What an incredible night at the Danvers Garden Club! 🌿✨
A huge thank you to Michael Derouin for sharing his artistry, expertise, and generous spirit with our members on Monday night.

His three stunning arrangements left us inspired, energized, and reminded of the magic that happens when creativity meets true craftsmanship. 💐🌟

October’s Intra-Club Competition: “The Witching Hour” 🕯️

This month’s Line Design competition challenged members to create dynamic, movement-filled arrangements inspired by Salem’s haunting history and the Rebecca Nurse Homestead. Designers focused on line as the dominant element, using minimal fresh or dried plant material to evoke the mystery and spirit of the season. 🌿✨

Congratulations to Deb Stashis Douglass on her first place win! 🥇 Her stunning design captured both the artistry of line and the essence of “The Witching Hour.”

This November we have an amazing opportunity! Michael Derouin, a nationally acclaimed floral designer will be our guest speaker for the November club meeting. Join us at the Danversport Yacht Club November 17th at 6:30pm for our monthly club meeting and watch Michael create 3 different designs. These floral arrangements will be raffled off to benefit the Danvers Garden Club. Michael has a career shaped by decades of experience both as a designer and educator. Non-members are welcome to join for a $10 entrance fee.

🎉🥇Congratulations to Debbie Stashis-Douglas for winning 1st place at the Topsfield Fair! Look at all those blue ribbons!! 🥇🎉

The category was Natural Materials Dried.
The rules for that category is that all materials must be dried as I said. They do not necessarily have to be grown by exhibitor. Nuts and cones can be used but flowers have to predominate. Some of the categories have specific measurements and requirements, like what kind of container, what size it should be and what the actual topic is.

Danvers Garden Club had a wildly successful clothing drive! Thanks to everyone who helped organize and to all who donated clothing! This is always a great start to the Danvers Garden Club year.

Wreaths are 12” ($20) or 16” ($25).
Custom Bows are Standard ($12) and Lamppost/Long Tails ($20). Both with a color of your choosing: Bright Red, Holiday Red, Burgundy, Ivory, Red Plaid (no gold backing).

Orders will be available for pickup at the Danvers Garden Club Balsam & Bows Fair on December 6th.

Balsam & Bows Fair will be held at Coolidge Hall, Topsfield Fairgrounds. Stick around after pickup to shop additional winter arrangements, arts+crafts by local artisans, or treat yourself to something yummy at the bakery sale.

Kristie Hardin and Deb Stashis-Douglas met with some of our junior gardeners to create a back to school project. Perhaps a nice gift for their teachers! Some of the projects in the future include a fresh floral arrangement inside a carved pumpkin and some spooky but cute accessories! Do you have a little one interested in gardening or floral design?
