My Brother, on this day in 1733, Freemasonry in America (which was a colony at that time) began. Right Worshipful Brother Henry Price, a humble tailor with a grand vision, convened a meeting of brethren at the Bunch of Grapes Tavern on King Street in Boston. There, under authority granted by Lord Viscount Montagu, Grand Master of England, Price organized the Provincial Grand Lodge for the very first time in Boston. He presented his petition (pictured below) from England and the brethren elected the Grand Lodge officers and chartered the 1st Lodge in New England; now known as the Saint Johns Lodge.
