Troop 38 is having an open house Monday, September 22, 7pm, at the upper clubhouse of the Dansville Fish and Game Club. Troop 38 has operated in Dansville since 1924 and provides a great space for kids to learn leadership, commraderie, grow, and most of all have fun on adventures. If your child is at least in 6th grade, you can join right into the troop.

Younger than that? No problem! Our Cub Scout pack has an open house on the same day, same place at 6pm.

Troop 38 is proud to introduce our 97th Eagle Scout, Devon Flick. Devon joined Troop 38 in February 2019 and received his Eagle rank in February 2025. Devon's Eagle Court of Honor was held on June 7.

Devon's Eagle project is the picnic pavilion at the Dansville Airport. We hope the community and travelers enjoy this for years to come!

Hello friends of Troop 38! As many of you know, this is our 100th year! The court of honor is set for December 7th (new date) the Dansville Fish and Game Club. Past members. leaders, and committee members of Troop 38 are welcome to attend - and encouraged!

We are in the process of making a commemorative plaque for anyone who wants to purchase. These are cast iron, powder coated, machined, and clear coated - to mark our special year. Anyone interested in purchasing, these are $40 each. It is a great fundraiser for our troop and a great piece to put on your mantle. They measure about 8" in diameter.

Attached is the CAD artwork of the trivet for Troop 38, and the other is a similar trivet another troop did last year (to show the final product). If you are interested in purchasing, please PM the troop and we will be in touch with you. Limited quantities available!

A few years ago, Troop 38 and Pack 71 were on the verge of closing. There are too many people to thank for stepping in and helping us succeed once again! The Dansville Fish and Game Club, Scout Leaders, Committee Members, Parents, Scouts, Dansville Central School, and the Dansville community. Because of this work, we are able to celebrate our 100th year anniversary this year.

Three leaders were recognized at the Silver Fawn dinner tonight:

Troop 38 recently camped at Palmers Pond near West Almond, NY. Camped next to the pond and kept being awakened by the peepers, geese, and beavers! Completed the nearby 1 mile orienteering course in the morning and did a 5 mile hike in the afternoon. Looking forward to the next one!
