Art can be found in the oddest places. A small “Dairy Bar” in Galax, VA had this adorable rocking chair on a window sill. I immediately thought: who built it, did they have plans, replicated from a picture?
No matter the answer - someone, somewhere, decided one day they were going to build a rocker out of clothes pins. My day today was made better because they did!

Just a sneak peek of the Graveblanket process…. All the ornaments were brought down, organized, and began the process of becoming “picks” for the blankets. We need approximately 345 picks of ornaments for the blankets and approximately another 200 for the log boxes…. And so it begins!

They will be having a tricky Tray at Becky’s on October 17 to raise money for the new group that they are starting at the Bethlehem area vocational technical school.
We were also able to drop off a check to get them started! Special thank you to our friends and followers who helped contribute to make that check even larger! 💜

I learned something new today….
While going through 2 boxes of donated hangers and cutting spikes for grave blankets…. I found these very ODD shaped hangers. I had to put them to the side - because I know we will use them for something better….
BUT WHAT ARE THEY???
Finally after I Googled them… they are linen hangers. Meant for drapes/bedding/etc. I grew up with people who just balled that stuff up and threw it in a closet/box/trunk…. Here all this time there are special hangers for that! 🤷🏼‍♀️

GRAVE BLANKET/ LOG BOX STYROFOAM
One of the issues we face every year is where the styrofoam will come from. In the early years we primarily purchased it from AC MOORE & JOANNES. But as we all know… both of those are no longer an option. For a few years we were able to purchase large amounts from companies thru Amazon and use PRIME for free shipping. The past two years this also has not been an option. This year after many phone calls, internet trolling, and emails… we were able to get a “decent “ deal, but also added S&H charges. Because of the amount of time and the constant increase in cost each year…. I purchased enough styrofoam to get us through this year PLUS TWO MORE years.
We have also had issues arise this year with log boxes as our “maker” became very ill - and we needed to find a new source.
For these reasons we will be increasing the costs of GRAVE BLANKETS & LOG BOXES by $5 each this year. We have not increased the prices in several years, so we hope everyone can understand that the increase is necessary to cover our increasing cost costs and still have enough profit to make the fundraiser worth doing. 💜
