What a night🤩🥘
All proceeds from this Black Pond Brews hosted event were donated directly to our mission of supporting those who serve our communities, and that’s why we cannot say enough THANK YOUS to the insanely generous community neighbors & business that donated their time, money, or products to help make our dinner happen.
Above all, this has to start with the BPB family… from organization to marketing to feeding and serving and hosting all of us, thank you🖤 I second this thank you not only for the BPB raffle prize, but also for the adorable w**e basket additional donated by Marc & Bobbie Guskey! We have that picnic basket & gift card from Dave & Jen Moran too!

To the incredible local celebrities who showed up & served in honor of a good cause..
We CANNOT wait to see what we do next together to support our communities!!❤️

That TV you see back there came from our friends at Bousquets Appliance, we’ve got a coffee gift pack from Two Dogs Coffee Shop, the chance to grab breakfast at Zips, a midday boost at Shake Pro, or dinner at 4G's Restaurant & Pizza.
Evergreen Farms decided to share this bottle of Eagle Rare, Black Pond donated a gift card to come back & visit them again (plus a T-shirt to wear when you do!) and even a few distributors left some presents…
We have the big glass of Fireball from Northeast Distribution, a bourbon/wh***ey bundle from Brescome Barton Distribution and a w**e/wh***ey pack from O’Shea’s Distribution.
Plus, that big honking tool propped right up in the middle directly from STIHL!

For those of you who don’t know, the Quiet Corner Peer Support Group is a local Northeastern Connecticut nonprofit dedicated to providing free peer support, crisis services, and mental health programs for first responders and veterans. Some programs, like our yoga classes, are open to all community members!

All proceeds from this Black Pond Brews hosted event will directly benefit Quiet Corner Peer Support and their mission of supporting those who serve our communities, and that’s why we cannot say enough THANK YOUS to the insanely generous community neighbors & business that donated their time, money, or products to help make our dinner happen.

We have had a change to our lineup for the First Responder Resilience Symposium this September 21st! Due to an unexpected change in speakers, we will have Alec Iurato presenting at our Symposium. We could not be more thankful for Alec's willingness to fit us into his schedule on short notice, and are beyond excited to have him as a part of this event.

Alec Iurato is the sole survivor of the 2022 deadly Bristol Police Department ambush. He was inducted into the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame as a recipient of their Courage in Service Award for his actions that night. In the years that followed, Alec embarked on a mental health journey to not only teach and advocate about Resilience and Post-Traumatic Growth but also display it proudly as a first-hand example. Alec, still an officer with the Bristol Police Department, is now the founder of Operational Resilience Systems, where he draws on his experience to advocate for responder wellness and practical ways agencies can support their members before, during, and after a critical incident.

A last-minute addition to join Matt Griffin is keynote speaker Michael Chase. Michael Chase has 25 years of combined experience as a Special Education Teacher and a Law Enforcement Officer in Danvers, Massachusetts. In 2013, Michael was only a matter of fifteen feet away from the second bomb that exploded at the Boston Marathon Bombings. These cumulative experiences sent him on a journey into how resilience is created in the moments in life that test us most. The traumas he has endured are not his headline, but they have reshaped how he leads, serves, and is present for those in his life. His focus is simple: "How we show up for others matters." We are so grateful to have Mike come and be a part of this event, and also so grateful that Matt Griffin is bringing him along for the ride!

From September 10th-13th, 2026, the Quiet Corner Peer Support Group staffed The Wall that Heals event in Murphy Park in Putnam, CT, where veterans and the public came to honor our fallen heroes. Our volunteers were proud to stand watch in shifts covering 24 hours a day, to ensure that mental health supports were available for those who might need it the most.
